Dental Implants

Implants are a great way to replace missing teeth or stabilize dentures. This is a perfect treatment choice when a single tooth or even multiple teeth need to be replaced. Dental implants look and function like natural teeth.

A common question is what exactly are dental implants and how do they work? Think of implants as being similar to natural teeth in design and function. First an anchor is placed into the bone where the tooth or teeth are missing. This anchor acts like the root of a natural tooth. Then a new crown is created to match the adjacent teeth and attached to the anchor, essentially creating a new tooth that looks and feels natural.

In the case of stabilizing a loose fitting denture, the anchor is fitted with attachments that "snap-on" and grip the underside of the denture to hold it in place.
