What Is a Mini Dental Implant Denture Made Of?
In this video, Austin cosmetic and implant dentist Dr. Brandon Hall explains the materials used to make mini dental implant posts and crowns.
So what is the restoration made of that attaches to the mini dental implant? We get asked this all the time. There’s a variety of things. The best top-of-the-line thing that we do is zirconia porcelain. It’s a monolithic one-piece bridge that’s a very dense, hard zirconia porcelain. And this looks and feels like natural teeth. And this is the absolute best thing that we can do for you. This costs less and is much more functional, much better. Patients love this thing compared to what you’re going to get somewhere else, and mostly what they make somewhere else is made of an acrylic resin. And it looks like this. So this is acrylic resin, kind of like a plasticky material. And this attaches much in the same way, but it’s bigger, bulkier, and softer. It just doesn’t feel as much like natural teeth as the zirconia bridge. So that’s kind of the material choices that you get and what they look like and feel like.
